The founder of Alpha-bet, Craig was an addicted gambler for many years. Having started on slot machines as a child to gambling on horses as a teenager, Craig graduated to adult slot machines, card schools, snooker and pool halls, casinos, football gambling, horse racing … you name it, he wanted a piece of it. In the 1990s Craig was working 2 jobs to help fund his gambling addiction
After years of battling the urge of gambling addiction, Craig knew there was a purpose to his life and desperately searched for answers. Having been brought up in a Christian environment he wanted to know more about God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. This led to a firm faith and being baptised on 3 rd February 2019. This was the day that Craig first encountered a supernatural force (The Holy Spirit). It’s hard to explain in human words but in simple terms he glowed from the inside out and he knew in is heart he had been saved from his sin in this broken world. The most amazing thing about that day was that all urges and temptation over gambling evaporated, instantly!
I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.John 10:10
Shortly after being baptised, Craig went on a huge cruise ship holiday to celebrate his 50th birthday. Cruise ships are well designed so that you have to go through a casino quite a lot to get from A to B. After two weeks at sea, walking past hundreds of slot machines and casino tables without even the slightest urge to get involved, he knew for sure that the addiction had been set free.
When he sees friends who try to invite him into gambling circles, he can now easily turn it away with no temptation at all
Craig has now been able to pay off his mortgage and build a successful business due to having no gambling in his life.
He wants to now share his story with gamblers and every other addiction so that they too will hopefully explore the Christian faith
We also want to hear from anyone who has been set free from addiction by the power of The Holy Spirit – Your testimony could save someone!

Gambling, often seen as a harmless past-time for some can become a destructive addiction for others, leading to financial ruin, broken relationships, and profound personal distress. By sharing testimonies from all types of addiction we hope to encourage others to seek out a relationship with Jesus.
And He said unto them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19
Gambling Addiction like any other addiction is a form of bondage that ensnares the individual, often leading to a cycle of guilt and compulsion.
Christianity views such addiction as a deviation from the path that God has for His children – a life of freedom, purpose and peace.
The Bible does not explicitly mention gambling but addresses the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10) and the importance of stewardship (Luke 16:11) which are concepts directly relating to gambling issues… These principles apply to all types of addiction. Jesus can open the door to your heart if you will let him in.
